Perspectives

Do you ever get so upset you feel like your about to blow up? Not blow up but you feel hot, like someone poured boiling water over you.

Yea, that mad.

You’re on the highway in the left lane keeping up with traffic and someone cuts you off? They literally sped up in the right lane to get in front of you and cut you off. And then they cut the next person off. And then the next. Suddenly its not just you that’s mad, its everyone in front of you as well. Everyone honks there horns in rage. People start driving furiously. Flipping each other off. It went from sweet calm clear skies to a red, hot, angry shit storm. It didn’t transition. A switch was flipped. And suddenly, you’re in a terrible mood. You feel as if your day is ruined.

You tell yourself your day is ruined.

You make a tattoo appointment two weeks ahead. You’re getting a memorable tattoo in honor of your miscarriage you had two months ago. You’re beyond stoked, excited and gleaming walking into the shop, the day of your appointment. You’re prepared with snacks, books, phone charger, water the whole shebang! Its happening! This is the moment! This may help with the depression you’ve dealt with since the miscarriage. You may cry a little less now. You get to look at it everyday and think “I made a beautiful angel baby and I’m proud of him/her.”

You get to your appointment, and they tell you they never wrote you down for an appointment.

You are raged with anger, you want to punch a wall, throw a chair, stomp around.

Pissed.

You’re at work, with a clear sound mind. Ready to take on the day. Make it yours!

Your boss walks in, doesnt say hi, or good morning. You hear him sit down real loud like. You hear sighs coming from across the room. (Which rushes anxiety through your blood because your an anxious person as it is and you just know something awful is about to happen). You hear him yell “damnit!” Very loudly. (Usually a soft spoken man)

You think to yourself, as a business man, and owner, you shouldn’t show to your employees you have bad days. You are the anchor, to keep us a float. He isnt weak. Hes a tough son of a gun.

I thought I was the only one that had bad days….I’m the only one that shows it. Or talks about it.

He comes up to you with a hot face. Slams paperwork down in front of you and says

“This isnt what I asked for, redo it. And bring it back pronto.”

Now your irritated.

Who is he to talk down to anyone especially an employee? HIS employee.. I work my ass off for him and this company.

I run the show here…

These are all scenarios of bad days. You’re reading this and most likely thinking, you’ve been in that position. You’ve probably had similar days. Maybe everyday, is a bad day for you.

What you didnt know…

The guy that was cutting everyone off on the highway, making everyone rage, was driving someone to the hospital that was in critical condition…they didnt make it.

The day you made your tattoo appointment, the desk lady was dealing with a sick dog that has been going to the bathroom all over the house all day, all night. She also has a newborn that keeps her awake. She doesnt sleep.

Your boss was getting yelled at and attacked all night by his wife. They fought, hell, she even threw fist in the air. The kitchen is a mess, some walls are destroyed. He tried his hardest to hide his kids from seeing this. He didnt want to call the cops on the love of his life. (Deep down he did). He tried his best to keep the situation down.

Everyone has bad days.

No one knows the full story.

When you hear “you cant judge a book by its cover.” You really can not.

Just because that guy cut you off, or you drove 40 miles to get a tattoo, or someone at work is having a bad day, doesnt mean it should affect you. I mean, we’re human. We have emotions. But somewhere deep down, you just have to breath. Take a damn moment for yourself, take a breath and pat yourself on the back because you’re doing a damn good job keeping your own shit together.

To be more understanding is one of my goals. I want to be less upset when one of the three scenarios happen. I want to grasp life by the balls and have an okay day. Things happen, people get pissed off, bad days are a thing. But, my point is to teach people to live happy. Worry less. Smile more. And it’s okay if you have a bad day. It’s okay to be frustrated sometimes. Life is to short to be mad constantly.
